Role Overview & Strategic Purpose

The Manager Credit Operations will lead and oversee the Credit Operations unit at DTB Tanzania. The role ensures robust pre-disbursement controls, precise loan booking, compliant facility disbursements, proactive portfolio monitoring, regulatory reporting, and MIS management while driving operational efficiencies and digital transformation across the credit lifecycle.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Credit Operations Leadership: Oversee daily credit operations to guarantee fast, accurate, and seamless execution of credit-related activities.

• Pre-Disbursement Control & Booking: Validate all credit approvals and conditions precedent prior to facility utilization; ensure precise booking of credit lines into the Core Banking System.

• Disbursement & Execution: Manage timely disbursement of loans in full alignment with approved sanction terms and delegated lending authorities.

• Portfolio Monitoring & Risk Control: Track facility repayments, limit expiries, excess usage, and collateral updates; enforce operational risk controls to maintain portfolio quality.

• Reporting & Compliance: Prepare regulatory reports for the Bank of Tanzania (BOT), compile Management Information System (MIS) reports, and ensure compliance with internal lending policies.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Banking & Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Professional Qualifications: CPA, ACCA, CFA, Certified Banker (CIB), or equivalent qualifications are an added advantage.

• Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 6 years of overall experience in the banking sector.

  • Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or management capacity within credit operations, credit administration, or loan processing.

• Technical & Core Competencies:

  • In-depth understanding of loan booking, credit disbursement, portfolio monitoring, and regulatory frameworks.

  • Hands-on proficiency with Core Banking Systems, MS Office Suite, and banking automation tools.

  • Strong analytical, leadership, team management, and decision-making capabilities.
